  • DSC_0358-640x4241

The Sintra Cascais Natural Park was created in March 1994 by the reclassification of former Protected Landscape Area of Sintra Cascais, covering an area parallel to the coastline stretching from the Citadel of Cascais to the mouth of the River Hawk, in Sintra and the agricultural area north of Lowland Colares, with the main objective to safeguard the natural resources and landscapes, particularly with regard to its flora and fauna aspects.

Offering an amazing variety of landscapes and environments, including dunes, forests, ponds, a rugged coastline where high cliffs are interspersed with lovely beaches, the imposing Cabo da Roca, and at the center, the magnificent Serra de Sintra with  the whole area UNESCO World heritage cultural Landscape of Humanity.
